A driver and a conductor were burnt to death while sleeping in a bus at Khadgarha bus station under Ranchi Lower Bazar police station limits. On the night of Lakshmi Puja, both of them were sleeping in the bus with a blanket, after which the fire broke out.
According to the information received, this bus was scheduled to leave for its destination this morning as usual. Due to this, the driver and the conductor performed worship inside the bus on the night of Lakshmi Puja. On this occasion, they offered offerings by lighting lamps in front of the idols of God. After that they both had dinner. After some time both of them fell into deep sleep. At the same time, the flame of a burning lamp inside the bus ignited the fire and within a few minutes the entire bus was engulfed in flames.
As the fire spread rapidly, the driver and the carrier did not even get a chance to escape and both were burnt alive. On getting information about the incident, the fire brigade team left, but by the time they reached the bus, the bus was gutted. As soon as the police got the information about the matter, they reached the spot and took out both the partially burnt bodies and sent them for post-mortem.

Many fire incidents have come to light on Diwali night. Where a shop caught fire, where a restaurant was gutted. On the occasion of Diwali, 17 fires broke out in Pune on the day of Lakshmi Puja. The fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
