Another big project of Tata Airbus is going to start in Gujarat. According to sources in the Indian Air Force, the news agency ANI has reported this. The Indian Air Force’s C-295 aircraft manufacturing project will be set up in Vadodara, Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the C-295 transport aircraft manufacturing project. According to the Defense Ministry spokesperson, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone on October 30.

The project will be jointly built by India’s Tata Group and European company Airbus. Airbus is an important aircraft manufacturing company in Europe. It has become the first foreign company to get permission to manufacture C-295 aircraft in India.

Tata Airbus will manufacture 40 aircraft at the project in Vadodara. Apart from this, the equipment required for the Air Force will be manufactured and the products will be manufactured for export, ANI has informed quoting the Defense Secretary.

In September last year, India had signed an MoU with Airbus worth Rs 21,000 crore for the production of 56 C-295 aircraft. C-295 aircraft will replace the aging AVRO-748 aircraft of the Indian Air Force. For the first time, a private company will manufacture aircraft for the Indian Air Force.

According to the agreement between the Government of India and Airbus, the first 16 aircraft will be delivered to the Spanish-built Indian Air Force over the next four years. The 40 aircraft will be manufactured in a joint venture with Tata Advanced Systems. The Airbus Defense and Space Quality Management System of the C-295 has been approved by the Indian regulatory body DGAQA.
