About 50 people have been burnt in this incident and they have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Of these, 25 have suffered severe burns. It is reported that due to this, there has been a commotion in the entire area and medical assistance and police investigation are underway.

Kendrapada DM Amrit Rituraj told news agency ANI that a firecracker competition was organized at various puja pandals at the immersion site. At the same time the spark from the crackers fell on the pile of crackers, causing an explosion and people were burnt. As soon as the information was received, the police rushed and admitted the burnt people to the district hospital for treatment. This incident happened at Balia Bazar in Kendrapada district of Odisha.
