The police had closed the case as no identity could be found in this case. However, the case was reopened recently after the activities of the accused came to light. Acting on a tip-off, a police team traced the couple and finally arrested them. Both have been identified as Bhagyashree Siddappa Pujari (age 31) and her boyfriend Suputra Shankarappa Talwar. After this murder, he got married.
According to police, Bhagyashree and her brother Ningaraju Siddappa Pujari were working in a factory in Jigani. He lived in a rented house at Vaderamachanahalli. Bhagyashree had an affair with Shankarappa, who was already married. Ningaraju opposed this relationship. So Bhagyashree and Shankarappa had conspired and killed Ningaraju.
Jigni police found a bag full of human body parts. Then this matter came to light. The police had received the doctor’s prescription at that time. From there, they reached the house of the accused. Both of them were not at home then. Based on the information received from the neighbors at that time, the police went to the factory where the accused were working and obtained their contact details. They contacted the relatives of the deceased and identified the body.
Failing to trace the accused, the police filed a closure report before the court, but the accused were kept under surveillance. While investigating the old cases, the police got information about the accused working in a factory in Nashik and a team reached there. Although the accused had changed jobs by then, the police started the investigation again and arrested the duo. So even after 8 years these two will get the punishment for their crime.
