The incident took place in Thaltej area and the woman has lodged a complaint at Vastrapur police station.
According to the Ahmedabad Mirror, Nikita Shah is a teacher by profession. She was out of her house for an evening walk around 4.30pm on Wednesday. As usual, she was walking from Jeevan Circle to Surdhara Circle. As they approached Crescent School Crossroads, a man in front of them came on a bicycle. He stopped the bike near them and pulled the gold chain around their necks. The price of a gold chain is around Rs 30,000.
Within a few seconds, the thief passed by. They didn’t even see the biker and the number on his bike. He shouted after the incident. But by then it had passed. She called her husband and then ran to the Vastrapur police station and lodged a complaint. My wife has neck injuries in this incident. It all happened so suddenly. She could not even see the number on the bike, her husband told police.
