Bangalore: Controversial statement of BJP minister has come to light during the by-election for Belgaum Lok Sabha constituency of Karnataka. (Belgavi Loksabha Bypolls) The ruling BJP leader in the state and the state’s Rural Development Minister KS Ishwarappa made this controversial statement.

The BJP will not give tickets to any Muslim candidate in this election, Ishwarappa has stated.

Belgaum is the center of Hindutva. Therefore, only one of the supporters of Hindutva will be given an election ticket, Ishwarappa clarified.

‘We can give a candidate belonging to any Hindu community. The ticket will be given to anyone from any community, be it Kuruba, Lingayat, Vokaliga or Brahmin. However, Ishwarappa said that Muslims will definitely not get this ticket. He also claimed that “there is no democratic system in any party other than BJP”. Ishwarappa made this statement while talking to news agency ANI.

KS Ishwarappa is a senior leader of Karnataka BJP. Koppal is the MLA of the constituency. KS Ishwarappa, 70, belongs to the Kuruba community. This is not the first time Ishwarappa has made a controversial statement.

Addressing the minority community, ‘Congress uses you only to get votes. However, tickets are not issued. We will not give tickets to Muslims. Because you don’t trust us. Trust us and we will give you other things along with the ticket. ‘

The BJP had won the recent by-elections in the state. Mani Ratna had won in RR Nagar while Rajesh Gowda had won in Sira constituency.
