Ghaziabad: At least 18 people have been killed when the roof of a cemetery collapsed due to torrential rains during construction work at the Muradnagar crematorium in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district. According to reports, several people have been evacuated from the collapsed mound and some are still believed to have been trapped in the mound. As soon as the incident was reported, rescue teams rushed to the spot and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took serious note of the incident. Adityanath has also instructed the district collector and the police administration to conduct the rescue operation in an effective manner.

Construction of the cemetery roof begins

The accident took place in Ghaziabad, an industrial city in Uttar Pradesh and adjacent to Delhi. Construction of linter begins in Muradnagar crematorium area.

This time it rained and the linter collapsed. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. What is special is that the victims of this tragedy had come to the cemetery for cremation.
