More than 1,200 birds, including 900 birds, were found dead in a poultry center in Maharashtra across India on Saturday. The Union government has also said that bird flu has been detected in Uttar Pradesh. In addition, a total of 7 states in the country have been infected with bird flu.
900 chickens have died at a poultry center in Murumba village in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district. “Samples have been sent for investigation to find out the cause of death of these hens and we are awaiting the investigation report,” said Parbhani District Collector Deepak Mulgikar.
More than 350 birds died in Rajasthan on Saturday. The death toll in the state has risen to 2,512. The dead included 257 crows, 29 pigeons, 16 peacocks and 54 others.
Five crows were found dead in a nala in Sitabpur area of Garhwal district in Uttarakhand district. Apart from this, work has been started to kill more than 1.60 lakh poultry birds in 5 poultry centers in Pantkula district of Haryana.

Meanwhile, the owners of poultry centers will be compensated at the rate of Rs 90 per party. About 4 lakh birds have died in poultry farms at Panchkula in the last one month.
