The government has procured 1.65 crore doses of Covishield and Covacin vaccines. The doses will be provided to the states and union territories as per the figures of health workers. The Union Ministry of Health has issued the necessary instructions to all the States and Union Territories regarding vaccination.
Centre’s instructions to the State-Union Territories
– This vaccine will only be given to people 18 years of age or older
– If a person wants to be vaccinated against any other disease, there should be a gap of 14 days between covid vaccine and other vaccines.
– The vaccine used for the first dose will be given for the second dose of the same vaccine. Vaccines cannot be exchanged
– Pregnant or pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding their offspring should not be vaccinated
– If any person has symptoms of corona, vaccination should be done 4 to 8 weeks after the person is cured
– Corona patients who have been given ‘monoclonal antibodies’ or ‘plasma’ should also be vaccinated after 4 to 8 weeks.
– A person who is hospitalized or struggling with any illness should be vaccinated after 4 to 8 weeks
– Individuals who have previously been found to be infected with corona or who have a history of serious illness (heart, neurological, pulmonary or metabolic, HIV, etc.) may be vaccinated.
Inauguration of the vaccination campaign on Saturday
The health ministry announced on Thursday that the corona vaccination drive will begin tomorrow (Saturday) at 10.30 am at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the first phase, vaccinators will be vaccinated in the health sector and the Prime Minister will inaugurate the campaign, which will be launched in several places across the country, through video links and will also interact with health workers, the health ministry said. The app ‘Co Win’ (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network) has been created for the distribution of corona vaccine campaign and Modi will also launch this app at tomorrow’s event.
