New Delhi: The central government had given a farmers’ protest against the proposal to stop the implementation of the three new farm laws for a year and a half. But farmers’ unions on Thursday rejected the proposal. The decision was taken by the farmers’ leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha at a marathon meeting on the Singhu border on the government’s proposal. Now the government and farmers’ organizations are meeting again today. A farmer leader said that no such decision has been taken by the farmers’ unions yet.

The proposal put forward by the government at the meeting of Samyukta Kisan Morcha was rejected. The meeting reiterated its strong demand for repeal of three central agricultural laws and enactment of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops, farmer leader Darshan Pal said in a statement.
It has been decided that their proposals will not be accepted unless the government repeals the agricultural laws. We have only one demand. All the three agricultural laws should be withdrawn and the MSP should be given the form of law. A decision has been taken on this, said farmer leader Jaginder S. after the meeting. Ugrahan said.

So the meeting is on. No decision has been taken to reject the government’s proposal, said Jagjit Singh Dalewal, leader of the Indian Farmers’ Association. Samyukta Kisan Morcha has claimed that 147 farmers have died in the farmers’ agitation so far. He was honored at a meeting of farmers’ associations.
