Tamil Nadu: Shashikala was shifted to Karona, ICU while in jail

An update on his health was released by Victoria Hospital on Friday morning. VK Shashikala is undergoing treatment as per the standard protocol of Kovid 19. Shashikala is also suffering from pneumonia, type 2 diabetes, hypertension and hypothyroidism.

Shashikala had been tested for corona once before. His report was found to be negative.

Shashikala, who is serving his sentence in Bangalore’s Parappana Agrahara jail, was diagnosed with fever and respiratory problems on Wednesday. He was later admitted to Lady Curzon Medical College and Research Institute. Here he was moved to Victoria Hospital for a CT scan and other tests. He was admitted to the same hospital after the tests.

According to Shashikala’s nephew and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kalagham’s general secretary TTV Dinakaran, Shashikala’s health is stable and doctors are monitoring his condition.

Shashikala, who is serving his sentence in Agrahara Jail, was sentenced to four years in prison in February 2017 in a disproportionate assets case. He is due to be released from prison by the end of this month.
