Centre’s new guidelines on corona: Cinema will start with more capacity, swimming flood for all

New Delhi: The Home Ministry on Wednesday issued new coronavirus guidelines. Cinema halls and theaters can now be opened with more seating. Earlier, it could only be opened with 50 per cent capacity. In addition, everyone will now be allowed in the swimming pool. Previously, only players were allowed to use it. The guidelines will take effect between February 1 and 28, the government said.

Separately revised SOPs will be issued for works for which new guidelines have been issued. The government has not yet given a date for issuing the SOP, the home ministry said.

Important guidelines

– Governments in all States and Union Territories will decide to comply with all necessary regulations, including masks and social distance.

– District Officers can decide content zones as required. But for that, one has to follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

– District, police and municipal officials will be responsible for strict implementation of all measures in the containment zone.

– The State and Union Territory Governments will decide on the accountability of the officers concerned in this regard.

– The decision on international air travel will be taken by the Ministry of Civil Aviation after consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

– Citizens over 65 years of age, pregnant women and children below 10 years of age are advised to take special precautions.

– SOPs have already been issued for many crowded places like passenger trains, schools, hotels and restaurants. They have to be strictly adhered to.

– Outside the containment zone, social, religious, sports, recreational, educational, cultural programs will be allowed as per the SOP of the State, Union Territory.

– Now all kinds of exhibition halls will be opened. The Commerce Department will issue SOP for this.

– So far SOPs have been issued from time to time for train travel, air travel, metro train, schools, colleges and universities, hotels, shopping malls, multiplexes, parks, yoga classes and gyms. They have to be strictly adhered to.
