Vaccination campaign intensified, India ranked fifth in the world
Vaccination in India has also gained momentum due to the decline in the number of corona patients. In just 11 days, India has succeeded in vaccinating 28 lakh 47 thousand 608 health workers. India is the fifth country in the world to do so. Vaccination campaign in India started from January 16. Other countries have been vaccinating since the first week of December. The pace of vaccination campaign in India can be estimated by vaccinating one million people in just six days. It took 10 days in the United States, 12 days in Spain, 14 days in Israel, 18 days in Britain, 19 days in Italy, 20 days in Germany and 27 days in the UAE.
Delhi lags behind in vaccination
This is a matter of concern as the pace of vaccination has not increased in most of the states despite extensive vaccination campaigns. In Odisha, more than 50 per cent health workers have been vaccinated. In Delhi, only 15.7 per cent of health workers have been vaccinated. Jharkhand has a vaccination rate of only 14.7 per cent. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that efforts are being made to address the problem by contacting the states which are lagging behind in the vaccination campaign.

With less than 21 per cent vaccinations in Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, it needs to be improved, the health ministry said.
