Ranchi: The husband has done something to save his sick wife from fetching water on foot from a distance of one and a half kilometers, which has made him a topic of discussion all over the country.

Dashrath Manjhi from Jharkhand had dug a road and built a road. Inspired by Manjhi, Chada Pahan dug a well on a hill for his wife and drew water.

Chada Pahan is a resident of Kojdong village of Murhu in Khunti district. The village is just 25 kilometers from the city. But, the village lacks basic amenities. Chada Pahan’s wife had to pipe a few kilometers every day for drinking water. In addition, her condition worsened when she became ill.

Chada Pahan, 35, works as a farm laborer like other villagers in the village. While wandering on the hill, Chada Pahan noticed water leaking in one place … and he found a solution to save his wife and others in the village from trouble.

Chada Pahan dug the mountain for six months and drew water. They had to throw large stones at the nearby assassins. They had to dig a 20 feet deep mountain to draw water. That is why he became the second ‘Dasharat Manjhi’ of Jharkhand for the villagers.

The villagers brought water to their house without a motor by throwing a pipe in the well dug by Chada Pahan. Chada Pahan has taught the lesson ‘Ichcha Tithe Marg’ to the villagers and the country through his actions.

Part of Jharkhand is still backward. Due to the geographical location, basic facilities are not available here even today. Even after 70 years of independence, many villages still do not have water and electricity.

Remarkably, delivering water to every household under the Water Life Mission is no less of a challenge. So far water has been supplied to 3.41 lakh rural households under rural water supply scheme. The government is working to connect one million families by next year. A provision of Rs 200 crore has been made for this.
