New Delhi: The farmers’ protest against the farm laws on the Delhi-Haryana border on Wednesday continues for the seventh day. The farmers held a press conference in the evening. The government should convene a special session of Parliament to repeal the Agriculture Act. On Saturday, December 5, there will be nationwide protests against the Modi government and corporate houses, said Darshan Pal, president of the Krantikari Shetkari Sanghatana.

We are not sitting on the street. The administration has blocked our way by erecting barricades and police and that is why we stopped here. This place feels like a temporary prison to us and stopping us is like taking possession. “After leaving here, we will go directly to Delhi,” said Swaraj Singh, president of the Indian Farmers’ Union.

Tomar and Goyal gave information to Shah

Failing to persuade the agitating farmers, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal today called on Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence. The two ministers briefed Shah on the discussions held with the farmers on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the central government will resume talks with farmers on Thursday. But before that, there will be a meeting between Home Minister Amit Shah and Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Punjab Chief Minister will meet tomorrow. The meeting will be held at 9.30 am. This will be the fourth meeting between the government and farmers’ organizations tomorrow.

“Amarinder Singh, you were on the Agriculture Bill Committee, so why didn’t you stop then?”

‘Instead of doubling the income of farmers, the income of government friends has quadrupled’

In Delhi, 35 farmers’ unions held a three-hour meeting with the government on Tuesday. But the meeting failed. The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Somprakash. In this meeting, the government informed the farmers about the benefits of the law. But farmers are adamant on repealing all three agricultural laws.
