The temple administration committee has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. We are unable to pay this amount to the Kerala government due to Corona. Because the temple did not receive much donations. As a result, the committee has asked the Supreme Court for more time. But the apex court refused to rule on the matter and directed the Kerala government to take a decision on it. The Supreme Court will now hear the case in September. On July 13, 2020, the Supreme Court passed a landmark judgment on the management and rights of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
The Supreme Court had set up an administrative and advisory committee for the temple. The Kerala government will pay for the protection and maintenance of the temple. Which will then be returned to the government by the temple administration. Even after the death of the ruler, the rights of the Travancore family will remain in the Padmanabhaswamy temple. The scheme given by the family will be continued by the district judge. As per custom, the family’s right to manage the family will remain unaffected after the death of the ruler, the apex court had said in the order.
