Accident averted! 100 gelatin sticks seized from female train passenger

Thiruvananthapuram: A single commotion erupted after an explosive device was found by a train passenger at Kozhikode railway station in Kerala. Railway security forces have seized more than 100 gelatin sticks and 350 detonators from the train.

The explosives were seized from Chennai Mangalapuram Express – 02685. Police have arrested a female passenger in the case. The woman is believed to be a native of Tamil Nadu.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of passengers. The woman confessed that she had brought gelatin sticks for the purpose of digging a well.

Remarkably, a day before the discovery of gelatin sticks in the train, yesterday (Thursday) in Mumbai, there was an uproar after gelatin sticks were found in a train near the house of businessman Mukesh Ambani. According to Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, the explosives were found in a Scorpio car near Mukesh Ambani’s ‘Antelia’ building. The incident is being further investigated by the Mumbai Crime Branch. Police have also seized CCTV footage of the vehicle. Police had received a tip-off that the suspect’s vehicle was parked on the road around 4.00 pm on Thursday. The vehicle was searched by the police and gelatin sticks were seized from it.
