The new Parliament House will be a temple of self-reliant India and a reflection of the country’s diversity. It will be 17,000 square meters bigger than the old parliament building. The building will be constructed on an area of ​​64,500 square meters at a cost of Rs 971 crore. Tata Projects Limited has been awarded the contract to construct the new Parliament building. The design is by HCP Design, Planning and Management Private Limited, said Om Birla.
After 75 years of independence, both the Houses will resume functioning in the new Parliament House. The new parliament will have about 888 seats for Lok Sabha members and more than 326 seats for Rajya Sabha members. The Lok Sabha Hall can accommodate 1224 members at a time, said Om Birla.
