The Bharat Bandla called by the farmers on December 8 has the full support of the Aam Aadmi Party. Aam Aadmi Party workers across the country will support the peaceful bandh. Kejriwal appealed to all the people of the country to support the farmers and participate in the agitation.
The fifth meeting between the Union Minister and the farmers’ delegation on Saturday also failed. The next meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday. The government is trying to quell the dissatisfaction against the agricultural law. The government is also ready to amend the Agriculture Act if necessary. But the farmers are adamant about their demands. We have not approved the reforms, the farmers have taken a stand that the agricultural laws should be repealed.
Farmers’ organizations from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan will participate in the strike on December 8. Many political parties have also expressed support for the bandh. The main opposition Congress has also backed the shutdown.
