After the fire broke out, work was started to evacuate 80 patients admitted to the hospital. This includes women and children. Relatives of the admitted patients were also in the hospital at the time. After about 1 hour of untiring efforts, all the patients were shifted to another hospital with the help of 20 ambulances. The fire destroyed all the machines and furniture in the Covid ward.

The alarm did not go off

Despite a fire alarm in the hospital, it did not ring at the time of the incident. This raises questions about fire safety at the hospital. Fire control equipment was also not suitable. The hospital administration has claimed that the fire was brought under control before the fire brigade arrived.
