New Delhi: At a time when the corona infection is causing havoc around the world, the country is facing a shortage of medical oxygen and remedial injections. Meanwhile, the central government has taken a big decision to relieve the patients. According to the information received, considering the situation of corona infection in the country, 50,000 metric tons of medical oxygen will be imported from abroad. For this, tenders will be issued from the center soon.

The central government informed about this on Thursday. In view of the increase in the number of Kovid 19 patients, tenders will be called soon to procure 50,000 metric tonnes of oxygen. The 12 states with the highest oxygen shortages have been identified. These include Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Orders in this regard will be issued soon by the Ministry of Health. The Home Ministry will also issue a notification.

In the meantime, the Center has advised the states to use oxygen properly and cautiously. At the same time, instructions have been given to ensure that oxygen is not wasted.

The country has the capacity to produce about 7,000 metric tons of oxygen per day. Oxygen used in steel plants is also used in medical emergencies.
