New Delhi: Due to the shortage of coronavirus vaccine in the country, the US pharmaceutical company Pfizer-Biontech has indicated its readiness to supply 50 million doses of vaccine to India this year. But there is a gum in it. Pfizer has indicated a willingness to give a dose of the vaccine. In return, the company wants a waiver from the Indian government, the sources said.

What does Pfizer-Bioentech want?

The Corona vaccine deal has been discussed several times between the Government of India and Faiz-Bioentech. The company had said in a statement that discussions were underway with India on the vaccine and a final decision would be taken soon.

Pfizer-Bioentech demanded legal protection from several countries, including the United States and Britain. Pfizer is making the same demand to India. The company does not want to be held responsible for any legal issues that may arise after the Pfizer vaccine. This will require the Government of India to consider this.

Vaccination was delayed due to non-availability of vaccine against coronavirus

The country has a shortage of coronavirus vaccine. The pace of vaccination campaign has slowed down in several small and large states, including Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Vaccination did not happen as fast as it should have. This is because the states do not get as many doses of vaccines as they want. This has led to the closure of many vaccination centers.
