New Delhi: India has imposed an immediate ban on exports of covid vaccines and export of vaccines in the form of aid (India halts vaccines exports) from May 5. The central government gave this information on Monday. Praful Sarda, an activist from Pune, had applied to the Center under the Right to Information Act. This has been answered by the Ministry of External Affairs. Apart from this, details of vaccines exported by India from 95 countries have also been given. This was reported by IANS.

In response to a question, the Ministry of External Affairs said that vaccines will be exported in the near future only after seeing the alarm of domestic production and national vaccination campaign. After India sent vaccines to many countries in the world, there was a shortage of vaccines in the country and the controversy broke out. On this issue, Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena, Aam Aadmi Party, Left parties and other opposition parties criticized the Central Government. Prime Minister Modi and the BJP were strongly criticized.

Apart from the original vaccine export figures, Sarda has accused the Center of keeping silent on a number of issues. The central government has said that if a committee is appointed to decide on the export of vaccines, the members of the committee and their meetings are not known. This is a very mysterious matter. Which ministry decided on a large scale subsidy or export? Did the Ministry of Health and Foreign Affairs participate in it? That was the question. The dose for export and subsidy was procured directly from the companies with the permission of the Ministry of Health, the reply said. But by whose order was such an important decision taken? This was not disclosed in the reply, Sarda said.

Call from anywhere in the country and make an appointment to get vaccinated

The central government has given 107.15 lakh doses free of cost to 47 countries through grants. 357.92 million doses were supplied to 26 countries at commercial rates. Under the CoVAX program, 198.63 lakh doses were sold to 47 countries. A total of 6.637 crore doses were sent abroad, the government said.

Heavy! 1 crore citizens will be vaccinated every day, the center plans

A dose of Covishield vaccine from Serum Institute of India was purchased with Rs 200 GST and Covacin of Bharat Biotech with Rs 295 GST, the reply said.
