hd deve gowda: Court orders ex-PM to pay Rs 2 crore compensation

Bangalore:Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda has been ordered to pay Rs 2 crore in a case by a court in Bangalore, Karnataka. H.D. Deve Gowda had made insulting remarks against Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) in an interview to a news channel 10 years ago. To compensate for this, the company has to pay Rs. D. The court has asked Deve Gowda to pay Rs 2 crore.

The order was passed by Sessions Court Judge Mallangauda in a case filed by NIC. Ashok Kheni is the promoter and managing director of the company. Kheni is a former MLA from Bidar South constituency.
