Anie Siva: 18 year old homeless ‘single mother’ to ‘police sub-inspector’ … the story of her stubbornness!

Annie Shiva, 31, has managed to establish herself as a ‘single mother’ and a ‘conscientious woman police officer’. When she was only 18, her husband left her alone with a baby. However, he bravely faced the challenges and challenges that came his way.

While studying for her degree from a college in Kanjiramkulam, Annie Shiva fell in love with a young man. He discussed marriage with his parents. But after the family refused, Annie married the young man against her will. However, he decided to marry her, leaving her alone for two years. He also had a six-month-old baby.

Annie asked her family for help, but her parents refused. Annie then took refuge in her grandmother’s home with her son.

Despite going through such a difficult situation, Annie focused on her education. He graduated first and then completed his postgraduate education in distance learning. However, he still could not get a good job. So for subsistence, he worked as a salesperson as well as selling insurance policies of banks. For a few months he also worked selling lemonade and ice cream on the grounds and at tourist spots. This was not an easy task for a woman who was considered as a ‘single mother’ in the society.

On the advice of a relative, he applied for a job as a police officer and also prepared for the exam. He also financed Annie.

‘My father wanted me to become an IPS officer. I worked hard and set a goal to get a job. Crying about your life situation does not work. All you have to do is make a decision. You don’t lose unless you accept defeat yourself, ‘said Annie.

After much hard work, Annie passed the police exams. In 2016, he passed the examination for the post of a civil police officer and three years later, in 2019, he also passed the examination for the post of sub-inspector of police. After 18 months of rigorous training, she joined the Varkala Police Station on Saturday, June 26, 2021 as a Sub-Inspector.

Kerala Police also appreciated Annie’s perseverance. Her perseverance inspires many women to make decisions and work hard.
