Guwahati: The dispute between the two northeastern states is growing. Violence erupted on the border of Assam and Mizoram a few days ago. Six Assam police personnel were killed in the firing. Mizoram police have now registered an FIR against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Besides, a case has been registered against 200 unidentified policemen, including four senior police officers from Assam and two from the administration.

Mizoram police have registered a case against all of them on charges of attempted murder and criminal conspiracy, Inspector General of Police John Nehlia said. Mizoram police have registered an FIR at Warengate police station in Kolasib district late on Monday night.

The Assam police against whom the case has been registered include Inspector General of Police Anurag Agarwal, Deputy Inspector General of Police Devjyoti Mukherjee, Kachar Superintendent of Police Chandrakant Nimbalkar and Dholai police station in-charge Saheb Uddin. A case has also been registered against Kachar Deputy Commissioner Kirti Jalli and Kachar Divisional Forest Officer Sanidev Chaudhary, Nehalia said.
