In the Lakhimpur Khiri violence case, the district court today ordered that all 13 accused, including Ashish Mishra, be charged under Section 307 (attempted murder) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 326 (injunction with a deadly weapon), 34A (organized crime) and the Arms Act. He told the police. An application was filed in the district court on behalf of the accused seeking removal of sections 304A, 279 and 338 imposed by the investigating officer on Ashish Mishra and other accused. At the same time, the investigating officer had sought permission from the district court to impose strict clauses on the accused in the case. During today’s hearing, the court has ordered to impose strict clauses on the accused. This order has increased the difficulties of the minister’s son.

Could face up to ten years in prison
Ashish Mishra and other accused in the Lakhimpur violence case will be charged under Section 307 and if convicted, they will face severe punishment. This clause applies to attempted murder. It carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and fine. If the person attempted murder is seriously injured, the offender is sentenced to life imprisonment.
