The committee comprises Justice (retd) Mehtab Singh Gill and Principal Secretary, Home and Justice Affairs Anurag Verma. The committee will submit its report in 3 days. The Punjab government has said that orders have been issued in this regard. On the other hand, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an inquiry into the matter.

At the same time, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the security of the Prime Minister. Senior advocate Maninder Singh has asked the Supreme Court to probe the matter. Maninder Singh has demanded that the court direct the Bathinda District and Sessions Judge to gather all the evidence related to the negligence of the police in the case. The petition is likely to be heard tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a BJP delegation has arrived at the Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh to meet the Governor. The delegation includes key BJP leaders from Punjab and state president Ashwini Sharma has arrived to meet Governor Banwarilal Purohit.
