He reiterated the urgent need for safe and unhindered access to all citizens, including Indian nationals stranded in war-torn Ukraine.

“Despite repeated requests from both Russia and Ukraine, India is deeply concerned that a safe corridor has not been created for Indian students stranded in Sumi,” Tirumurthy said. Russia has declared humanitarian corridors from Sumi to Poltava and from the territory of the Russian Federation to Belgorod by signing an agreement with the Ukrainian side.
