The Maharashtra government had requested that the matter relating to Anil Deshmukh be investigated by a committee under the supervision of the court as the central government was taking revenge. However, the apex court today dismissed the government’s plea, saying it would not take up the matter.

Anil Deshmukh’s problems increased!

Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s troubles have been exacerbated by the Supreme Court’s refusal to withdraw its probe from the CBI. Anil Deshmukh was arrested on November 2 on charges of taking bribe while transferring police officers and recovering money from bar owners in Mumbai. The allegation was made by the then Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh.

The petition was also rejected by the Mumbai High Court

The state government had earlier filed a petition in the Mumbai High Court in the Anil Deshmukh case seeking removal of the probe by the CBI. However, after the Mumbai High Court rejected the petition, the government rushed to the Supreme Court. But even the Supreme Court has refused to intervene in the matter.
