New Delhi: Accusing NCP president Sharad Pawar of pursuing caste politics in Maharashtra, MNS president Raj Thackeray made a controversial claim about the tomb of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Raigad. Raj Thackeray claimed in a public meeting in Aurangabad that the tomb of Shivaraya was built by Lokmanya Tilak himself. MP Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati has also clarified his position on the controversy.

Lokmanya Tilak built Samadhi of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Raigad, this claim is completely wrong, ‘said Sambhaji Raje, slapping Raj Thackeray. Also, Mahatma Phule discovered the Samadhi of Shivaraya and after that the pooja started there. This Samadhi was built in 1925. The credit for building the Samadhi of Shivaji Maharaj belongs to all Shiva devotees and not to any one person, said Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati.

To announce political role

Arguments are being made about the future political path of Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati after the end of his tenure as an MP. Speaking on this, Sambhaji Raje said that May 6 is the centenary of Shahu Maharaj’s memory. “After the event, I will announce to the people in Mumbai or Pune what my next political role will be,” he said.
