Anger over interfaith marriage; Young man murdered by wife’s family in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old man was killed in Hyderabad by two members of his family out of anger over inter-religious marriage. The incident, which took place on Wednesday night, has caused a stir across the country. (Interfaith Marriage Violence)

According to the information received, in January 2022, a Hindu youth working in a showroom had a love marriage with a 23-year-old Muslim girl. However, this inter-religious marriage was opposed by the family members of the young lady. The young man had also demanded security from the police after the marriage. Similarly, on Wednesday night, while the young man was riding a motorcycle with his wife, two members of his family reached him on the road and started attacking him with sharp weapons.

The girl repeatedly appealed to the family members who were attacking her husband to stop the attack. However, the family member who was burnt by the soda did not listen to her and continued to attack the young man. The assailants fled the scene shortly after, leaving the seriously injured youth in a pool of blood. However, due to heavy bleeding in the attack, the young man died a few moments later. A 23-year-old woman cried when her husband was killed by her family in front of her eyes.
