Navjot Singh Sidhu refuses to eat chapatti-vegetables in jail; Demand for Special Diet Plan

Delhi: Former Punjab Pradesh Congress president and former Indian cricket team opener Navjyot Singh Sidhu is currently lodged in Patiala jail. The Supreme Court has convicted Sidhu in a 33-year-old case. But after Sidhu was sent to jail, different news is coming out. Sidhu has refused to eat in jail. Therefore, he has been admitted to Rajendra Hospital in Patiala. They will be examined there.

Police have taken Sidhu to Patiala hospital. They will undergo a medical checkup there. Meanwhile, a medical committee has been set up by the prison administration. He is going to make a diet plan for Sidhu. Sidhu had claimed to be allergic to wheat. That is why he refused to eat prison food. It is learned that they are not eating chapati in jail but only vegetable salad.

Sidhu demands special diet

Sidhu had said that he was allergic to wheat. He was also diagnosed with liver disease. Therefore, he had demanded a special diet from the prison administration. Sidhu is allergic to wheat and cannot eat wheat chapati. He had stopped eating chapati for the last several years. That is why they have demanded a special diet. He had already informed about this. The court has called for a report on his medical checkup by 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has sentenced Congress leader Navjyot Singh Sidhu to one year rigorous imprisonment in connection with the death of a senior citizen in a street brawl in 1988. The next day, on Friday evening, Sidhu surrendered in Patiala court and was sent to Patiala jail.
