Srinivas Gowda, a 42-year-old man from Karnataka, started a farm for animals in 2020 on a 2.3 acre land in Ira village in Dakshina Kannada district, seeing the merits of animals and their usefulness to humans. Srinivas, who completed his BA education and worked in a software company, also quit his job for a goal and turned to this field.

His farm breeds goats, rabbits and Kadaknath hens. But he always felt sorry for the donkeys. The value of donkeys was also forgotten by man. So he decided to give the donkeys a place in his farm. Srinivas says, ‘In many places in Karnataka, laundresses used donkeys to carry clothes. But now they are not used due to other facilities. As a result, the number of donkeys is decreasing. Many people make fun of donkeys. It was painful for me. Eventually I decided to put donkeys on my farm too. ‘ Srinivasa’s farm will initially have 20 donkeys. It will be the second donkey farm in the country after Ernakulam in Kerala.
