‘No such thing in future’, Chief Minister Shinde is angry over the dance of MLAs

News Agency, Panaji After the announcement of Eknath Shinde as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shinde on Friday expressed his displeasure over a dance performed by a group of his supporters at a hotel in Goa. He also asked them to take care that such incidents do not happen in future.

Eknath Shinde will be the next Chief Minister of the state, senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis announced on Thursday. After that, the MLAs gathered in the lobby of a hotel in Goa and chanted a single jallosh. Some of them were seen climbing on the table and dancing. After her dance to a Marathi song went viral, netizens criticized her for being indecent.

After nearly 10 days of power struggle in Maharashtra, Shinde, who revolted from Shiv Sena along with his supporting MLAs, was sworn in as the Chief Minister, while Fadnavis was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister. After the swearing-in ceremony in Mumbai, Shinde returned to his hotel at Dona Pavla on Friday morning. Addressing the pro-MLAs this time, he strongly objected to their dance. He also asked them to take care that such incidents do not happen in future.

Meanwhile, ‘We sincerely admit that it was a mistake to dance like this. This does not suit the MLAs elected by the citizens and who aim to work for the betterment of Maharashtra. Such mistakes happen out of joy, but in reality they should not happen ‘, said Deepak Kesarkar, a rebel MLA and spokesperson of Shinde group while talking to reporters.
