New Delhi : Voting for the presidential election has started from 10 am today. BJP-led Raloa has nominated Draupadi Murmu. So, opposition parties have jointly supported Yashwant Sinha. As the presidential election is important, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh attended the Parliament and voted. Although Singh is not well, he has fulfilled his duty to vote. Manmohan Singh was brought to vote in a wheelchair.

Apart from the constituent parties in Raloa, BJD, YSR Congress, BSP, AIADMK, Delgu Desam Party, Janata Dal Samyukt, Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have supported Murmu. With the support of these parties, Murmu is getting a lead against Sinha. If Draupadi Murmu wins this election, she will become the first tribal woman President.

Counting of votes on July 21
4800 MPs and MLAs of India will vote in today’s elections. After the voting process is over today, counting of votes will be done on July 21. The new President will be sworn in on July 25. Due to the support of various regional parties, Murmu is likely to get as many as 6 lakh 67 thousand votes out of a total of 1 million 86 thousand 431 votes. A Congress MLA from Odisha and a NCP MLA from Gujarat have voted for Murmu.
