The only temple in India where wealth worth crores is placed at the feet of the Goddess, returns as it was after Diwali

Ratlam: A different practice has been observed in the Mahalakshmi temple in Madhya Pradesh for the past several years. During Diwali in this temple instead of flowers-pillars, notes, diamonds and jewels are mirrored. Every year devotees place their wealth at the feet of the goddess in this temple. The wealth kept by the devotees is properly accounted for. After Diwali his wealth is returned to him. This year around 500 people have deposited cash worth crores of rupees at the feet of the goddess. The temple of the goddess was decorated with notes. So, the goddess is adorned with gold-chadi, diamonds-pearls. However, this year only notes have been taken from the devotees. Because there will be a solar eclipse on the second day of Diwali, it will be difficult to keep track of the ornaments. For this purpose, the temple Sansthan took this decision.

Goddess Mahalakshmi is beautified for five days with the wealth collected by the devotees. Devotees believe that by placing their wealth at the feet of the Goddess, prosperity increases and the Goddess blesses them. Here, along with Ratlam, devotees from Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat keep their wealth in the heart of the goddess.

In Mahalakshmi temple, this practice has been going on since the time of Maharaj Ratan Singh Rathod of Ratlam Sansthan. Ratan Singh Rathod founded the city of Ratlam. On the day of Dhantrayodashi, all the cash and jewels in the Sansthan’s treasury were placed at the feet of Mahalakshmi. Later the people also followed this and started placing their ornaments in front of Mahalakshmi during Diwali.

Meanwhile, the Sansthan keeps a detailed record of the compensation to be placed at the feet of Mahalakshmi Devi. After Diwali, whoever kept his wealth is returned to him.
