Congress has defeated BJP in 5 by-elections held in the state in the last 4 years. The result of the by-election held in Bhanupratapur assembly constituency was announced yesterday. Savitri Mandavi of Congress won in it. Therefore, the number of Congress MLAs in the Legislative Assembly has reached 71. There are total 90 assembly seats in the state.
