New Delhi:The ninth India-China 9th round of talks was held on Sunday amid ongoing tensions in the eastern Ladakh region. The meeting, which lasted for 15 hours, ended at around 2.30 pm on Sunday-Monday night.

The meeting started at around 9.30 am on Sunday in Moldo area. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General PGK Menon, 14 Corps Commander of the Army from India and Major General Liu Lin, Commander of the South Xinjiang Military Region from China.

Earlier, in the eighth round of talks on November 6, the two sides had a wide-ranging discussion on the withdrawal of troops from sensitive areas. India says it has a responsibility to move ahead with the withdrawal of its troops from disputed mountainous areas and reduce tensions.

It is noteworthy that at least 50,000 Indian Army personnel are deployed in East Ladakh at different altitudes in preparation for war.
