Issue of ‘lookout notice’ against farmer leaders, confiscation of passports

A lookout notice has been issued against farmer leaders in the Delhi violence case on Republic Day. Delhi Police will also confiscate the passports of the farmers’ leaders. Earlier, Delhi Police had issued show cause notices to more than 20 farmer leaders. Why was the agreement of the farmers’ leaders with the Delhi Police broken? Farmer leaders needed to be at the forefront of tractor marches. Also, only 5,000 tractors were allowed in the agitation. The time for the tractor march was fixed at 12.00 noon. But, before that, the tractor march was started. Some anti-social elements have taken to the stage and made provocative speeches.

A period of three days to reply

The notice was received by several farmer leaders late on Wednesday night. Among them are Yogendra Yadav, Balbir Rajewal, Baldev Singh Sirsa, Dr. Darshanpal is also a farmer leader. Police have given the leaders three days to respond to the notice. Police called the violence near the Red Fort, a protected structure, “the most heinous and anti-national act”.

FIR filed

Several FIRs have been lodged in the case by the Delhi Police. It also includes the names of Deep Sidhu as well as Lakkha Sidhana, a ‘former gangster’ and current social activist. The case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for damaging public property and other laws. Crimes have also been registered under ancient monuments and historical sites as well as the Remains Act and the Arms Act.

Action against night protesters in Baghpat

On the other hand, farmers’ agitation against the Agriculture Act continues on the borders of Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur in Delhi. Although the number of protesters has decreased, the protesters are adamant. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh police cracked down on protesters on the national highway in Baghpat in western Uttar Pradesh late on Wednesday night. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. The Uttar Pradesh police said that the action was not taken by force but in a peaceful manner.

Amit Shah will visit the injured

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Sushruta Trauma Center and Tirtha Ram Hospital on Thursday. Meanwhile, he will visit police personnel injured in the Delhi violence. According to the Delhi Police, about 300 police personnel were injured during the tractor rally.
