Srinagar: Two militants surrendered in a clash with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

According to officials, security forces had received a tip-off that the militants were hiding in Lelahar village in Kakapora area. After that, the security forces cordoned off the entire area and conducted a search operation.

The militants opened fire on the security forces at around 8.30 am on Friday. Then the skirmish began. According to officials, the two militants surrendered to security forces with their AK-47 rifles after the late-night firing.

It is not yet clear which terrorist organizations the surrendering terrorists are associated with.

The two terrorists are believed to be Akil Ahmed Lone and Rauf ul Islam. Akil was critically injured when shrapnel entered his left leg during a clash with security forces. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
