Chandigarh: Congress leader Navjot Singh Siddhu has commented on the ongoing farmers’ agitation in and around the country’s capital Delhi. “The country is on the path of hunger and famine,” Sidhu said. Sidhu, who joined the Congress after many years of BJP politics, has expressed displeasure over the unequal distribution of wealth in the country. (we are on the path to extreme hunger and famine says congress leader navjot singh sidhu)
Navjyot Singh Sidhu tweeted his statement. “Only one per cent of the richest people in India have more wealth than the bottom 70 per cent,” he tweeted. The poor work hard but the wealth of the rich increases. Farmers work, but capitalists earn. In the last six months, Ambani has increased his wealth by Rs 90 crore every hour. Adani’s wealth has increased by 61 per cent.

Navjyot Singh Sidhu has also pointed out India’s weak position in the Hunger Index. “India is ranked 94th out of 107 countries in the Global Hunger Index,” Sidhu wrote. There is food, food stuff, but it is stored in the cold storage and warehouses of the capitalists and it is beyond the purchasing power of the poor. ‘
