New Delhi: The agitation of farmers in the country against the Union Farm Laws is now taking a more violent form. Meanwhile, former Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has returned his Padma Vibhushan in protest of the law. Badal wrote a three-page letter to President Ramnath Kovind protesting the Union Agriculture Act and returning the Padma Vibhushan, expressing displeasure over the action being taken against farmers.

Returning his Padma Vibhushan, former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said, “I am so poor that I have nothing to offer to the farmers. What I am is because of the farmers. If the farmers are being insulted, then there is no point in maintaining any kind of honor.

The farmers have been cheated and this has caused great grief to the farmers. Mr. Badal said that it was very unfortunate that the farmers’ agitation was being misrepresented.
