New Delhi: At least 25,000 Central Armed Police Force (CAFF) jawans will be deployed in the Assembly elections 2021 in four states and one Union Territory in the coming months. The Home Ministry has directed the deployment of 250 companies from CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and SSB for the Assembly elections. 75 companies will be reserved. These companies will be deployed in the state if required, officials said. West Bengal elections are expected in April-May this year, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

Meanwhile, 12 CAPF companies arrived in Bengal on Saturday before the Assembly elections were declared. Two companies reached Durgapur by train, one company to Birbhum and one company to Bankuda district. At the same time a company has reached Bardhaman.

Special emphasis on security in Bengal

Assembly elections will be held in 5 states this year. Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) has been deployed in the states to conduct the election process peacefully. The process of deployment of Central Security Forces in the states started from Saturday. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is concerned about security in West Bengal. The Election Commission has decided to send 125 CAPF companies to Bengal.

CAPF companies for five states departed on Saturday. 45 companies are being sent to Tamil Nadu, 40 to Assam (Assam), 10 to Puducherry and 30 to Kerala.
