New Delhi: The tenth round of India-China military talks lasted 16 hours. The meeting started at 10 am on Saturday and lasted till 2 pm. Earlier, the two neighbors had on Friday completed the disengagement process on both sides of Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh.

In the latest round of talks at the senior commander level, the two countries discussed the withdrawal of troops from the Depsang, Hotsprings and Gogra areas. The discussion took place on the Chinese side at Moldo, south of Pangong Lake in the Chushul sector, on the other side of the LAC.

At the heart of this discussion is the emphasis on accelerating the military withdrawal process. The two sides met to discuss its modus operandi, sources said.

The two countries have been holding diplomatic and military talks for the past nine months in the wake of rising border tensions in April 2020. There was a bloody battle between the troops on both sides in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh. 20 Indian soldiers were martyred. More than 35 Chinese soldiers are said to have been killed. But China says only five soldiers were killed.
