Mamata Banerjee was seen at his home with Abhishek Banerjee’s daughter. Shortly afterwards, CBI officials arrived to interrogate Abhishek’s wife.

Rujira Banerjee, wife of Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, was summoned by the CBI on Sunday evening to join the probe. Rujira Banerjee on Monday responded to a summons issued by the CBI. He had said in his reply that Central Committee officials could visit his house on Tuesday to probe the alleged coal theft case. He will be questioned in the same case today.

Rujira, while replying to the summons, had requested the CBI to come to his residence between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm on Tuesday. ‘I am unaware of why I am being called in for questioning or what the subject of the inquiry is. But, you can come to my residence anytime tomorrow, February 23, 2021 between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm as per your convenience ‘, Rujira had said while replying to the CBI.
