Patna: Farmers are vehemently opposed to the Agriculture Act enacted by the Central Government through the Bill during the Coronation period. Farmers have been on the streets for the last eight days demanding repeal of the law. Today (Saturday) is the ninth day of this movement. Farmers from Punjab and Haryana have set up camp on the Delhi border and in Nirankari Maidan. Meanwhile, the law is also being opposed in Bihar.

In Bihar, farmers and political parties took to the streets in large numbers to protest against the agricultural law. Many constituent parties of the alliance are going to hold a dam agitation at Gandhi Maidan in Patna today with the objective of giving a comprehensive form to this agitation. Leader of Opposition Tejaswi Yadav and leaders of several Congress and other parties will also participate in it.

Bihar has already implemented the same law as the Center. This law has only harmed the farmers of Bihar. Opposition leaders in Bihar have demanded that the Center should learn a lesson from Bihar and withdraw the new law.

Tejaswi Yadav had instructed a press conference on Friday regarding the dam agitation in front of the Gandhi statue at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. There is anger in the minds of farmers against this law. We are supporting the farmers. The government claims to double the income of farmers by 2022. However, if the minimum guarantee is not provided, the farmers will have to bear the loss, let alone double the income, the opposition said.
