Today will be an important day
Meanwhile, farmers’ organizations have warned to intensify the agitation if no concrete solution is reached in the talks with the ministers in the Modi government. On the other hand, the BJP-led Manoharlal Khattar government in Haryana is also likely to get into trouble due to this agitation.
Meanwhile, for the seventh day in a row, the capital, Delhi, was besieged by farmers’ agitators. A meeting of farmers’ leaders was held on the Delhi-Haryana Singhu border on Wednesday.
The farmers’ leaders clarified in a press conference in the evening that they demanded that the three agricultural laws of the Modi government should be canceled by convening a special session of Parliament. Why should agricultural laws be repealed? We will submit a written statement to the government. The agitation will not end till the law is repealed and we will block the whole of Delhi, the farmers’ leaders have warned.
Apart from Punjab farmers, farmers from across the country should be invited for the discussion, the farmers’ leaders said. The farmers’ agitation has the support of all sections and social organizations in the country and the agitators have warned that the Modi government should not spread propaganda that the agitation is limited to certain states and certain sections.

Demand of Indian Farmers Union
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) -led Indian Farmers’ Union has also demanded that a new law be enacted to ensure grain security by procuring foodgrains from farmers at guaranteed prices.
After a failed meeting of 35 leaders of the farmers’ movement with Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railway and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Somprakash at Vigyan Bhavan on Tuesday, discussions will resume on Thursday. In this meeting, the flaws in the three agricultural laws will be presented to the ministers of the Modi government. The farmers will submit their objections in writing to the government.
Northern freight closed?
The country’s transporters will also come out in support of the farmers, who have been on strike in North India since December 8. The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC), the country’s top freighters’ union, has announced a shutdown, signaling a halt to freight traffic in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. The biggest hit is likely to be on the supply of essential commodities. It is feared that if the shutdown is called during the current cold season, the supply of vegetables, milk and food grains in many major cities in the north will be disrupted. The organization has 1 million freight members across the country.
