Prayagraj: An FIR has been lodged against 11 partners, including a well-known company providing various facilities at the Kumbh Mela held last year in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The company had submitted bogus bills of Rs 109 crore. Meanwhile, the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela Authority has blacklisted Lallu G & Sons for five years.

Alleged to have submitted bogus bills worth billions

According to the complaint of the Upper Kumbh Mela official, the city was to be built on a temporary basis by the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela Authority during the Kumbh Mela. Lalluji & Sons was officially appointed as the contractor to provide tents, furniture and other facilities. The company and its partners had submitted bills worth Rs 196.24 crore between February 27, 2019 and July 6, 2019. Additional Kumbh Mela officer Dayanand Prasad lodged a complaint against the company and its partners at the Daraganj police station for presenting bogus bills and vouchers worth crores. During the investigation, 86. Bills of Rs 38 crore were found to be correct. The remaining bills of Rs 109.85 crore were found to be bogus.
