New Delhi: The growing number of coronaviruses has raised concerns of the central and state governments (coronavirus india). Since the festive season, the central government has directed the states and union territories to remain alert. The Center has directed to stop the crowds on Holi, Eid, Shab-e-Barat and Easter. The number of corona patients is increasing in Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat.

The Union Additional Secretary of Health has written letters to the Chief Secretaries of the States and Union Territories. He said that during Holi, Shab-e-Barat, Bihu, Easter and Eid-ul-Fitr, strict measures can be taken at the local level to curb crowds in public places.

On the other hand, the Gujarat government has issued new guidelines for Holi. Public ceremonies and crowded events are not allowed on the day of Holi. The Maharashtra government has declared a lockdown in Nanded and Beed districts of the state from 12 noon tonight to April 4. The shops will be open from 7 am to 12 noon.
